Will the doctor's surgery on Ghana's Black Stars prove effective against Germany or NOT......includes match facts..stats and more

On Saturday at 7pm GMT...the entire nation barring any 'dumsor' will stay glued to their TV sets...radio sets...Computers... Tablets... etc to monitor proceedings of how Ghana's senior national team the black stars of Ghana will fare when they play their German counterparts...

Playing each other for the second time in world cup history...Germany will move to the brink of qualification for the last 16 of the competition if they can defeat Ghana in Fortaleza.

The three-time winners eased past Portugal on Monday evening, and the four-goal margin of victory means that they are almost assured of top spot if they beat Ghana, providing that USA don't win their final two games.

Coach Joachim Low is unlikely to make any alterations to a team that comprehensively overcame their main rivals in the group, and Thomas Muller will be eager to add to his hat-trick after taking an early lead in the race for the golden boot.

Same story however cannot be told about The Black Stars though.....Competing in their third World Cup, Ghana have never failed to reach the knockout stages, but coach  Akwasi Appiah will be aware that his team cannot afford defeat if they are to continue that streak.

The Black Stars bossed play against the USA on Monday night before succumbing to a late goal from John Brooks, and the 'silent killer' might decide to go with the same lineup for the game with Germany or better still effect very few change...

Despite dominating possession against the Yanks...the Black Stars lacked the cutting edge to finish off several chances created whereas lapses in defence caused the two goals conceded.

For Ghana to atone for the defeat to USA..they must deduce a stratagem to get maximum points against a German side who haven't lost to an African side in 32 years in world cup history.

That stratagem should be the handiwork of none other than head coach DR. JAMES KWASI APPIAH... known as the silent killer, Kwasi Appiah needs to make spot on decisions to make Ghana's chances even more brighter.

Few have understood his starting lineup in the USA game with many feeling malcontent with his explanation as to why he came out with such a stating eleven....

From an earlier post on this blog...I outlined what I felt went wrong for Ghana in our game against USA.....(can access it directly here kwakuboadu.blogspot.com/2014/06/match-day-6-wrap-of-2014-world-cup.html)

The question is, will Ghana be able to beat Germany???

That's were I want is to focus... Although the stakes are against us...the words impossible and difficult would be employed here...

To think is impossible to rule out a win for the  Black Stars is totally wrong and even though the Black Stars have a chance of beating Germany its gonna be a very difficult encounter...

First I will spell out what the coach should do and then lead you through how history and others favours or doesn't favour Ghana..

The Dr. James Kwasi Appiah needs to get his selection right and I stress he should get his selection right.....

Who does he choose as his goalkeeper... Adam Kwarasey or Abdul Fatawu Dauda....

We have seen how in activeness has robbed Spanish goalkeeper Iker Casillas of his qualities and looks like a similar situation with Ghana's once number 1 goalkeeper...

Dauda showed clearly in the friendly with South Korea that his reflexes, agility...and even confidence had dropped..
He wasn't his old self in the entire game and one worrying thing is he was too eager to prove something....

The rest I leave ur with the coach to decide.... Does he keep faith with Adam Kwarasey or returns to the Orlando Pirates goalie...

For our defence..Should I mention Daniel Opare's name as a sure starter at RB and everyone reading this will be chomping till I retract my statement...

That clearly depicts how Ghanaians being their observant best saw the departing Standard Liege man.... His passes...crosses and concentration levels explains it all and a change in that position will be very much appreciated and greeted with loud cheers by majority of the people..his replacement  in my candid opinion should be Harrison Afful who is Ghana's most versatile full back...

At left back...although Kwadwo Asamoah looks to be undoubtedly one if our most creative players he never fared badly in his rile at left back... The issue is we sparingly used his flanks ad majority of our attacks came from the right flank...

I feel Kwadwo Asamoah should start in that dame role..... He should be brought into the game more and that is solely dependent on the technical handlers of the team headed by Kwasi Appiah.

For the central defensive role... Jonathan Mensah and John Boye should start not because they weren't faultless but rather there are no better options.

The instruction have to simple... They should maintain their concentration and play it simple..

In the middle....Rabiu Mohammed was ok...but he us a yellow card away from suspension but that should not deter him from starting...although he needs to be careful with his tackles....

However his partnership with Muntari was also a different thing on its own...

Muntari is a a good midfielder but he's lost that touch in the last few years..

His game has now been characterised with poor passing... And his shooting qualities have also diminished....and I feel either of Emmanuel Agyemang Badu and Afriyie Acquah is a good replacement for that role....

Andre Ayew despite being a peripheral figure for most part in the USA game...made an atonement with his well taken goal and I feel he deserves a start again....

Christian ATSU has immense talent but it all amounted to nothing with his weak finishing and poor final passes.

Kevin Prince Boateng should  start from that position since Albert Adomah proved he could do nothing better than what the youngster did...

For the attack Jordan Ayew should start from the bench and his place taken by Abdul Majeed Waris...we clearly missed his presence in the USA game with the numerous chances we squandered...

Simply put...Waris should partner Asamoah Gyan...

Hence the lineup should be
Fatau Dauda...Harrison Afful...kwadwo Asamoah... John Boye.. Jonathan Mensah......Rabiu Mohammed.... Afriyie Acquah (Emmanuel Agyemang Badu)....Andre Ayew...Kevin Prince Boateng...Asamoah Gyan... Abdul Majeed Waris..... 4-2-3-1
